Rental Process
The norms for long-term rentals in Morocco differ to holiday rentals. For information on holiday rentals please visit our Morocco Holiday Apartments website. We consider a long-term rental to be anything over 6 months. These are the steps that you’ll need to take to secure your long-term rental:
1. Search for a Property
Our website is the best source of information as it is updated daily. If you do not find anything suitable and are looking for a particular kind of product, please email us to let us know what you’re looking for.
2. View the Property
It is very important that you view the property yourself in order to make sure it is want you are looking for. Pictures may not be enough to tell you about the property and it’s surrounding areas.
3. Signing of Contract
You will need to sign a tenancy agreement between yourself and the landlord or the appointed managing agent. This must be ‘legalised’ in order for it to stand in the court, should a problem arise. We’ll help you on all the legal matters. The landlord will usually ask for 1 month to be paid in advance and 1 month to be used as a Safety Deposit to be returned at the end of the tenancy.
4. Agent Commission
A commission equivalent to 1 month’s rental income is to be paid to the Real Estate Agents. This is the norm through-out Marrakech and Morocco.
